"A good turn" is an English term that means to do some thing good for others.  We have a volunteer machinist who is helping us get our Atlas metal lathe in shape.  G. (name with held to protect the good will)  is a kind and thoughtful person who is highly skilled.  Volunteers like G. help us to increase our capacity in research and development of appropriate construction technologies.  This small lathe will be used to develop prototype tools and equipment for villagers.  We will prove out the designs with our villager production team here at the CVBT.  We thank Gary for his kind-heartedness.  A machinist who uses a lathe "turns" metal.  Gary has done the CVBT a "good turn."
