Hi Geoffrey,

Quick question for you.
How much cement is needed for 1000 blocks? I am assuming their is some cement used?

The ratio of cement to soil can range from a very rich 1:6, to a very lean 1:11. A reasonable value to use to estimate with is 1:8 Unstablized blocks can be used where they won't be exposed to any moisture (for example, interior walls of a building.
The weight of a block can vary from 6.5 kg to 8.1kg depending on the soil available. A reasonable value to use to estimate is 8kg. So, for ease of calculation, let's use 1;7 and 8kg which gives a cement content of 1kg/block; or, 50 blocks per 50kg bag of cement. So, 1000 blocks would take 20 sacks of cement.
