Wall to Roof Connections

What connections are available in Asia for attaching the roof to the ICEB? For example, what is commonly used to attach a steel frame roof to a masonry wall in Thailand?

Good question Grace

In South East Asia most building traditions are wood post and beam structures. In Thailand wood is now hard to get so steel roof structures are often used. It is still common to connect a rebar from a column (or just a vertical rebar in the case of ICEBs) to a roof truss by welding. Build change advises against this Build Change's Chapter on Connections. A separate anchor is recommended. What do you think?

For wood roof structures, prefabricated anchors are nice. Here is an example: The assistant mayors house under construction in Tha Chat Chai village, Phuket, Thailand.
A roof connection. I don't know if it was pre-fabricated or welded in place

Another view. This house was built by Habitat for Humanity
I think that the bottom members of the trusses are actually redundant with the top row of blocks already having reinforced concrete in a channel block.
I don't think that the upper portion of the center wall was necessary. But the roof connections are very strong.
In rural villages welding is not always possible on site.
